Challenges and goals
The complete storage infrastructure at Zahnärztekasse AG (ZAK) had to be replaced after 5 years. The challenge was that certain services had to be migrated without interruption to the new storage platform. The AGIBA team had worked with the customer to develop several variants of the new storage environment. It was very important that a future disaster recovery solution was included in the data center at the second location.
After several strategic meetings with the team of the ZAK IT Service and the ZAK Oracle database managers, the decision was made for a FAS8020 with two controllers at the Wädenswil headquarters. A FAS2520 was chosen as backup and disaster recovery system. For compliance with the data security required by the parent company, the dentist's office uses the NSE (NetApp Storage Encryption) disks in combination with Gemalto Keysecure. This allows the ZAK to comply with the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46 / EC.
After the last data (Archive SnapLock) was migrated from the old 7-Mode system, we successfully completed the project in the middle of November.
